Embracing Change, Finding Balance

Life often feels like a relentless storm, a whirlwind of responsibilities, expectations, and challenges. For years, I thrived in high-pressure environments, believing that success meant pushing harder, working longer, and ignoring the warning signs my body was sending me. Until, one day, everything changed.

On December 12, 2019, I found myself on a hospital bed undergoing exploratory heart catheterization. At just 55 years old, I was facing the reality of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, and obesity; a direct result of decades spent in a high-stress career. The industry I had devoted my life to had taken its toll. That moment was my wake-up call.

I had a choice: continue down the same destructive path or commit to something different, something healthier, more sustainable, and deeply fulfilling. I chose change.

The Journey to Mindfulness

Walking away from the only career I had ever known was terrifying, but it opened the door to a life I never imagined possible. I discovered mindfulness, meditation, and intentional living, tools that not only helped me heal physically but also transformed how I approached life.

Mindfulness taught me how to slow down, breathe, and truly live in the present. Through meditation, movement, and gratitude, I began to heal from the inside out. Today, at 60 years old, I am medication-free, thriving in a new career in biotech, and dedicated to helping others navigate their own storms.
